About emptying the cup
If cup is full you cannot add anything more to it. Mind is also the same. If mind is full of beliefs and prejudices and rigid thoughts you cannot welcome new ideas. You are not considered to be open minded. So to let new ideas enter your mind, one must have open and (little) empty mind. So long so good.
There is bigger problem than not having open mindedness. You are so open that you are ready to let any thought come in and permit it to cultivate in your mind. You have no filter. Dangerous! People are so obsessed with open mindedness, they seldom conscious about whom they are listening and what is going in their head.
I often hear people saying “Adjustment is necessary for living peaceful life”. Adjustment is OK, but compromises of values are unacceptable. Before few months I went to Japan for business purpose. It is quite difficult to get vegetarian food in Japan , and I am pure vegetarian. Someone tries to convince me by asking,”What will I do if I need to survive life in jungle?” Why the hell I need to survive in jungle. Idiots and their hypothetical world!
Just to prove they are team player, people easily do what is against their values. How coward. If your friend or team members do not respect your values and your individuality, they do not deserve you to be with them.
If some place is empty, it will become place where people throw garbage. Have something in your mind; otherwise it will be good place to store garbage.

Being Happy
Time you wasted enjoying, not really wasted.
-John Lennon
All human beings including you and me endlessly striving for one ulterior desire and that is to become happy. Every time consciously, or unconsciously, knowing or unknowingly we seek happiness.
We have big dreams great ambitions, fantastic ideas, and our mind continuously tells us, if this one comes true I will become happy. So we always seek happiness in tomorrow. In future. Now what about today. Why we have kept happiness on hold. And really who assured you for tomorrow. There may be no tomorrow. (kal ho na ho).
No here I am not encouraging you for not having goals. You should have it and it should be big enough to motivate you even to wake up at 5am in winter of January. But my point here is not to keep happiness on hold till the day you see your dream turns to reality. Be happy toady, be happy now. I am sure you have dozens of dreams and tons of ambitions. But you should not keep happiness on hold. If you are not able to find any, wait I will show you many.
You have job. Great! There are many graduates (may be more competent than you), out their waiting for one oppouritnty to get job. There are many people not able to complete their schooling. And what to say, you have caring family and loving friends. You have eyes to see and legs to walk. But, I don't know why we (I said here ‘we’ not you) are not able to see happiness with those eyes.
I had the blues because I had no shoes until upon the street; I met a man who had no feet.
Denis Waitley
Sometimes we are unhappy nowhere expect in our own mind. As said mind is perfect slave but terrible master. Your mind may continuously only showing what you don’t have, and usually oversight what you have. We always look at emptiness, difficulties and problems.
Here is big question. How to become happy today. If you are among most of the people I am sure you will not be astonished with your own success. Reason is simple, whatever we have, it may be either our achievement or any object of material world, seems to inferior or of lesser value against our expectation or perception of success. We always try to compare our today’s reality with tomorrow’s fantasies and planning to be happy in future. Needless to say whether our dream comes true or not, we will not content with it and may never say I have everything I wanted, now I can live rest of life with peace and satisfaction. Rarely happens.
Let us move towards step where we can found happiness. Start with list of things that make you feel good. It is not easy as it seems to be. You need to constantly observer yourself. At times it is also important to know, what makes you sad. Do only things what makes you happy. Sounds familiar! Yes I know you heard this many times, then what ceasing you from doing what you want? Think over it.
What one action you (and only you) can take toady which cuts burden of your most annoying worry? Maybe you are not sure your plan is perfect or not. But if you start today working with your not so good plan, it is much more worth that tomorrow’s excellent plan. Ready! Fire! Aim! If you miss the target, adjust arrow. Now it is much easier than your previous shot.
Wish you a happy life!
